Surveying "Tachometry Project" at Saputara (21/03/2024 - 22/03/2024)

Civil Engineering Department has organized a technical visit of “Tachometry Project (Surveying)” for 2nd year (4th Semester) students at Saputara, On 21/22 March 2024. Total 51 students along with four faculties, Prof Sandip Mistry, Prof.Nikunj M. Ashiyani, Prof. Arun H. Prajapati and Prof. Aarti Borse has benefitted from this visit. Saputara is a hill station located in Sahyadris or Western Ghats. Saputara town is part of Dang district in Gujarat. It is a tourist destination. Our main purpose for this survey was to get detail knowledge about application of Tacheometer to prepare topographical map of selected site of Saputara. Also to get practical knowledge of surveying and use of its instruments in field. During practical we select three instrument station. Also students were divided in group for smooth execution of Tacheometry Survey.Students were highly enthusiastic to learn Tacheometry Survey or contour survey. They learned different technical activities like Readings on staff, Determination of horizontal distance & Elevation, Reduced Level calculation, WCB calculation, B.M calculation, Contour forming etc. Also they had completed calculation in field book and draw a contour sheet for that hilly station.

Civil Engineering Department Of SNPIT&RC has organized a visit of “Kakrapar Weir Site” at Kakrapar Taluka-Mandvi, Dist-Surat for the students of 7th semester students. Total 120 students along with two faculty members have visited the Site under the subject of Irrigation Enhineering (Code:2170609) on 1/9/2018. A multipurpose project is a large-scale project that serves many goals such as flood control, fish breeding, irrigation, energy generation, soil conservation, and so on. In contrast, hydropower projects are primarily concerned with supplying electricity. It is one that serves many functions at the same time. This Weir was built to provide irrigation support to the surrounding communities as well as to prevent flooding from occurring on a regular basis.

Civil engineering Department has organized a technical visit of “Kakrapar Irrigation System (Weir, Aqueduct, Rataniya regulator)” for 4th year (7th Semester) students at Kakrapar, On 24th August 2017. Total 115 students along with three faculties, Prof. Bankim Joshi, Prof. Abhishek Sapre & Prof. Sarika Javiya has benefitted from this visit. Kakrapar project is based in Gujarat on river Tapi. This project is present on the Karapura Dam in Gujarat. This is an irrigation project and is located in Kakrapar. This village is around 80 kilometres upstream from the Surat city of Gujarat.

Total 97 students have visited along with three faculty members on 3/12/2016.A student site visit to a sugar factory in Bardoli can offer valuable insights into the sugar production process, industrial operations, and the economic significance of the industry. Students can learn about the cultivation and harvesting of sugarcane, the extraction of juice, the refining process, and the production of sugar and its by-products.
