Laboratory

Computer Aided Design Lab
CAD (Computer Aided Design) provides a convenient mean to create designs for almost every engineering discipline. It can be used for Architectural design, Mechanical design, electrical design, plant design, industrial design, duct design, electronic circuit design, and product design. The CAD laboratory has been equipped with computer systems of latest configuration and the department has also upgraded the laboratory by installing perpetual licensed software “SOLIDWORKS” having key benefits such as: A better design approach, increased employability, Value addition in students’ profile and many more.

Fluid Mechanics
Fluid mechanics is the branch of physics that deals with the study of all fluids under static and dynamic situations. Fluid mechanics can be divided into fluid statics, the study of fluids at rest; and fluid dynamics, the study of the effect of forces on fluid motion. This study area deals with many and diversified problems such as surface tension, fluid statics, flow in enclose bodies, or flow round bodies (solid or otherwise), flow stability, etc. It is important to understand the functioning principles and characteristics of fluid motions from an engineering point of view. The Fluid Mechanics laboratory is actively engaged to reinforce and enhance understanding of the fundamentals of Fluid Mechanics. The experiments here are designed to demonstrate the applications of the basic fluid engineering principles and to provide a more intuitive and physical Understanding of the theory.

Workshop Practice
To familiarise with the basic manufacturing processes and to study the various tools and equipment used,hands-on training is given in different sections. Essentially student should know the labour involved, machinery or equipment necessary, time required to fabricate and also should be able to estimate the cost of the product or job work. The workshop practice deals with the basic knowledge of carpentry, fitting and smithy jobs.

Machine Tool Lab
This laboratory is aimed at providing an introduction to the Know-how of common processes used in industries for manufacturing parts by removal of material in a controlled manner. Auxiliary methods for machining to desired accuracy is covered. The emphasis throughout the laboratory course will be on understanding the basic features of the processes rather than details of constructions of machine, or common practices in manufacturing or acquiring skill in the operation of machines.
